Questions I raised at the Q&A period -
1. Is the Medical Act regulating the medicare profit driven
operation?
A: Current there is no law regulates the profit driven stakeholder
ROI
practice. A case in UK, over the 3-4
year period, 200CAD investment
in medicare turned into Millions. - by Dr. Pollock
- What do you think? Any suggestions on that? Email
me.
2. In terms of balancing the sustainability of operating the
medicare business and the ethical
standards, what kind of profit margin is reasonable
to both stakeholder and the public?
A: I would say 10-12% when I quote the government. But this
is hard to have a boundary since
all depends on the cost of the expending
the facility and new programs. However, the medicare operation
should not be operated as if it is a commodity.

by Dr. Hildahl
- What do you think? Let me know your answer on that
by email.
3. (Due to limited time, I did not get to ask...but the audience
came up to me to ask for my
3rd question)
Are following data published to certain
websites where public can access
the following facts:
1) Government budgeting | individual hospital budgeting
2) The pay rates to medicare professionals in all levels
3) The year end profit vs. performance table compare with
previous years and compare with
other hospitals and compare with different
provinces
A: If you know the answer, please email
me. Thanks.
